Speech Therapist

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Speech-Language Pathology (BASLP) or equivalent. 
  • Master's Degree in Speech-Language Pathology (MASLP) preferred. 
  • Valid registration/license as per applicable regulatory requirements. 


Experience:

  • Fresher or 1–3 years of experience in a hospital, rehabilitation center, clinic, or special education setting. 
  • Experience in pediatric and adult rehabilitation is preferred. 


Clinical Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive speech, language, voice, fluency, and swallowing assessments. 
  • Develop individualized treatment plans based on patient needs and clinical findings. 
  • Provide speech and language therapy to pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients. 
  • Diagnose and manage communication disorders arising from developmental delays, neurological conditions, hearing impairments, stroke, traumatic brain injury, autism spectrum disorders, and other medical conditions. 
  • Evaluate and treat swallowing (dysphagia) disorders. 
  • Monitor patient progress and modify treatment plans as required.
  • Maintain accurate patient records, assessment reports, and treatment documentation. 


Patient & Family Education

  • Educate patients and caregivers regarding therapy goals, treatment plans, and home exercise programs. 
  • Provide counseling and support to families regarding communication and swallowing disorders. 
  • Conduct awareness programs and educational sessions when required. 


Multidisciplinary Collaboration

  • Work closely with physicians, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, psychologists, audiologists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals. 
  • Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and case discussions. 
  • Coordinate referrals and follow-up care as needed. 


Quality & Compliance

  • Adhere to hospital policies, clinical protocols, and ethical standards. 
  • Ensure compliance with patient safety and infection control guidelines. 
  • Participate in departmental quality improvement initiatives and audits.
