Dr. Athul Krishna is a highly qualified urologist and renal transplant specialist with over 7 years of experience in surgical practice. He completed his MS and DNB in General Surgery before going on to earn his MCh in Urology and Renal Transplantation from Government Medical College, Kottayam — securing the 3rd rank in his batch, a reflection of the academic rigour and clinical excellence he brings to his practice.
Dr. Athul specialises in the diagnosis and treatment of a wide range of urological conditions, including kidney stones, prostate disorders, genitourinary cancers, male urological issues, and complex renal diseases. He is trained in advanced laser endourology procedures and minimally invasive urological surgeries for prostate and renal stone disease — including HoLEP (Holmium Laser Enucleation of the Prostate) and RIRS (Retrograde Intrarenal Surgery) — bringing some of the most technically advanced, least invasive treatment options available in urology to Sunrise patients.
He has further advanced his expertise in robotic surgery through dedicated training at leading domestic and international centres, including MPUH Nadiad, Azorg Hospital, and the renowned ORSI Academy in Belgium — one of the world's foremost training institutes for robotic surgical technique. In addition to his clinical practice, Dr. Athul has contributed to several research publications and national conference presentations, reflecting an ongoing commitment to academic excellence and evidence-based care.
